SUDBURY, ON -- Take a trip through the universe in just one day and save! Sound impossible? It is possible with an Intergalactic Passport from Science North!
Your Intergalactic Passport will take you aboard the space shuttle as you join NASA astronauts in their repair mission of the Hubble Space Telescope in the IMAX film Hubble 3D. Gaze in wonder at the galaxies and constellations Hubble has revealed to us in its 20 years in space.
Give your imagination a workout in Science North’s new digital Planetarium show Black Holes: Journey into the Unknown. Witness what would happen if you got too close to a black hole. See how they are able to warp time and space. Discover what science has taught us about these phenomena ... and what we must still learn.
For younger astro travelers, Coyote, an amusing character adapted from Native American oral traditions, helps us to explore the relationship between the Earth, Moon and Sun in another Planetarium presentation of the same name. His confusion about the universe will make you think about how the Earth, Moon and Sun work together as a system
Then take your exploration to the fourth floor of the science centre and Science North’s newest object theatre, Between the Stars. Discover how galaxies billions of light years away are detected, and how the space that’s between the stars – while elusive – is just as important to the explorers of this ‘final frontier’.
Test your knowledge in Space Place and grasp the principles of orbiting planets by trying out our new gravity bowl! Back in the lobby, you can reflect on all of the accomplishments of the Canadian Space Agency at its ‘Canada's Stellar Space Achievements’ exhibit near the Planetarium entrance.
In celebration of Space Month, you can see Hubble 3D in the IMAX Theatre, a Planetarium show, and get admission to the Science Centre all for one great price with your Intergalactic Passport! Here are some other special events to celebrate Space Month:
